30+ Tortie Kittens Being Ridiculously Cute!

Dubbed tortoiseshell cats because their coats feature a mixture of brown, red, black, and amber patches, these kitties — who are almost always female because their unique coloring requires two X chromosomes — are known as “torties” by their adoring fans.  Torties are equal parts sassy and sweet, and their fun and feisty personality is often referred to as “tortitude.”

According to research, torties can be a bit more challenging than many of their counterparts, but the people who share their homes with tortoiseshell cats appreciate their fiery ways! This is Turtle. She is 6 months old and is at #BARCS with her brother, Goldenboy, who is also vision-impaired. I don’t know their story, but their cards say they were surrendered by their owner. Please spay and neuter your pets, and please get regular medical care for them. So much suffering can be prevented if people made just a tiny bit of effort. Turtle and Goldenboy are sweet, curious, perfect kittens who I know have their best days ahead of them. ? Sorry for getting all Sarah McLachlan about this stuff, but it is really disheartening. For every cute picture I post here, there are many other animals at the shelters I visit that are in really rough shape.
