While some cats are born with partial paralysis due to malformation of the spine or verterbrae, others can become paralyzed after experiencing some sort of trauma, such as a spinal injury. Even though cats with partial paralysis aren’t able to walk like their more able-bodied counterparts, these incredible felines still manage to get from place to place quite handily, either with the help of a wheelchair or simply by pulling themselves around by their front legs.
When people see paralyzed cats for the first time, they often feel pity or sympathy, but these videos demonstrate how incredible and capable these special needs kitties are! Cats with partial paralysis can play, cuddle, climb, jump, groom themselves, and even catch flies, and the way they overcome adversity is truly inspiring.
Most cats with partial paralysis have no idea they’re different from the average feline, but these videos show just how extraordinary these adorable handicats — and their people — are!
