If you want to treat your cat to some ice cream this summer, just remember to avoid chocolate — which is poisonous to cats — and only give them a tiny amount. Contrary to what many people think, most cats have difficulty digesting dairy products like ice cream, and the lactose found in milk and cream can give felines upset stomachs.

However, a few licks of an ice cream cone probably won’t do your kitty any harm, and they’ll certainly appreciate getting a taste of the sweet treat!
